Add the corned beef to the papas. Add 1 small can of tomato sauce, rinse the can, add the water. Stir, lightl boil. (Use a large can of tomato sauce if you want a richer broth.)

Stir in your cheese. Here are two handsful of grated cheese left over from another meal. Cubed or sliced cheese works just as well. Stir into the sauce; it'll all melt to produce a rich, red-orange gravy. Stir in the string beans now.

Bring to a boil then lower the flame to simmer. Cover or not. If you're not in a hurry, brown but don't boil; set the flame to simmer and go do something for a while. I get home, wash up, throw all the ingredients into the pan, turn the fire low, cover it, then go finish my p.m. routine--feed the cat, check the chickens, get the fireplace going, set the table. Unwind--cooking's a great way to unwind, que no?
